About Us
Innkeepers Joe & Lyndee Radigan welcome you to Knollwood House, ". . . the Pinehurst area's most elegant bed-and-breakfast . . ." as designated by Golf Odyssey Magazine.

Knollwood House traces it's roots back to 1927 when a wealthy family from Philadelphia built a vacation getaway on what was then the newest Donald Ross designed golf course in the Sandhills. The house later became the home of the Commandant of Fort Bragg. Knollwood House has always been a notable location for celebration and social gatherings, attracting guests like Glenn Miller, who played on the lawn after returning from a USO Concert on post; Herb Pennell, who took polo to new heights on the fields surrounding Pinehurst; and Walter Hagen and Ben Hogan who found golf heaven in the Sandhills.

Around Knollwood HouseIn 1992, Knollwood House was converted from a private residence to a Bed and Breakfast Inn. Innkeepers Joe and Lyndee Radigan acquired Knollwood House in 2007. The Radigans plan on maintaining the fine traditions that have been established over the years and have already added some new and exciting amenities to Knollwood House. For instance, guests can now stay connected with free high-speed wireless internet access and they can enjoy the convenience of making reservations on-line through the Knollwood House web site.

Joe and Lyndee have become Innkeepers after successful careers in the corporate world. Joe has been a senior executive in the health care and insurance industries, and Lyndee spent her time in the executive ranks in Human Resources. It is their desire to incorporate their talents with people and their passion for cooking with their excitement for the area of Southern Pines and the Sandhills.

After several visits to the area, the Radigans determined that the Sandhills was the perfect location to satisfy their dual passions for golf and equestrian activities. Joe grew up being actively involved in junior and high school golf in Connecticut and spent each summer as a caddie at the local country club. Lyndee has been the driving force behind their Equestrian Center in South Florida, Jumpin' 'Round Farms. Joe and Lyndee have two wonderful daughters, one who is an equestrian and the other who is an avid golfer and a member of her high school's varsity golf team.

Joe and Lyndee hope you will join them for a wonderfully relaxing and interesting stay at Knollwood House.
